Blog Journal #6

 My initial experiences using diigo were definitely rough at first, but the tutorials provided on how to navigate tit definitely helped be figure it out.I understand why we use diigo for this course, but it is not my favorite to use. It is not the easiest to navigate as everything is thrown onto the one page and it feels very overcrowded.But it is an effective way for our class to be able to post and bookmark links for the whole class to see.

 I have throughly enjoyed blogging as a reflection of what we have done throughout the week. I like being able to place my thoughts and opinions into our reflections each week. I feel like doing these blogs is a nice way to wrap up the week and finalizes our thoughts on the new material covered.I've learned how to not repeat myself when writing these blogs, in the beginning I have often found myself saying the same thing over and over. But after reviewing my own and writing more blogs, I have learned how to keep my points condensed while getting the point across.

Youtube is a great tool when it comes to successful learning. Youtube allows for students to watch informative videos on the content they are learning and witness visuals that might not be able to be performed in class.Not only this but students can make videos of their own, this allows for their creative side to grow. I think I would implement the use of youtube in my class after the lecture, so that the students can hear the content from a different voice and different perspective.

        Due to the outbreak of Covid 19 many of us had to shift from a classroom to a computer when it came to learning. It was definitely a hard shift and experience filled with many trial and errors, but as time progressed we eventually learned the ropes. I liked getting more time in the day to get more things done, since we didn't have to travel back and forth from our home to school, there was definitely more time to prepare for the day and get work done after. I'll admit, I strongly disliked online learning, so the cons for me greatly outweighed the pros. I was not able to focus online, between my dogs barking often and my phone constantly buzzing , it was hard to stay on task. Not only this but there was constantly technology issues, the wifi would constantly shut down and this would cause our zoom meetings to not work. Blog Journal #4

      In the standard LAFS.1.RI.2.5 for kindergarten, students must be familiar with navigating their way through the internet and websites in order to find the information they are looking for. I do feel ready to implement this standard into my future class room as it does call for anything too extreme. I am familiar with navigating the web and using tools they will have to learn to work with, so I am pretty confident in having to explain this to them. In addition to this, I feel having a good amount of patience to work with the students is key. Working with technology is something that is fairly new to all of them, so being gracious and going at their pace will be beneficial when learning these new skills.
