I found a teachers kindergarten website and it consisted of all the basic information a parent would need to know for their child. It was lighthearted and colorful, and consisted of graphics that would appeal to a young student. The website consisted of a school calendar, lunch options for the week, and an October calendar for the class.  The website also has a list of school supplies a student would need for the school year, this allows parents to ensure their students have the materials to have a successful school year. https://www.stconstanceschool.org/teacher-web-pages     In my classroom, one of my main goals would be to stay as organized as possible, using an online calendar will help me reach this goal. This ensures that all upcoming events and important dates stay in one place, without the the fear of losing it. Not only this but using an online calendar you are able to be notified when the date is approaching. I also plan to use google classroom. Th...

My initial experiences using diigo were definitely rough at first, but the tutorials provided on how to navigate tit definitely helped be figure it out.I understand why we use diigo for this course, but it is not my favorite to use. It is not the easiest to navigate as everything is thrown onto the one page and it feels very overcrowded. But it is an effective way for our class to be able to post and bookmark links for the whole class to see.  I have throughly enjoyed blogging as a reflection of what we have done throughout the week. I like being able to place my thoughts and opinions into our reflections each week. I feel like doing these blogs is a nice way to wrap up the week and finalizes our thoughts on the new material covered.I've learned how to not repeat myself when writing these blogs, in the beginning I have often found myself saying the same thing over and over. But after reviewing my own and writing more blogs, I have learned how to keep my points condensed while ...

Twitter is a neat way to find information about upcoming events, news, or even just a funny joke. I have found this website quite helpful when it comes to trying to keep myself updated. It's a place where you can here many opinions on a story and see videos of those who witnessed. This could be beneficial to my future career, because as a teacher I need to stay updated with the new laws passed and this allows me to see how people are reacting to them and what they are doing about it.    The digital divide affects many students worldwide and it plays a major role in student success rates. When assigning homework that involves the use of technology, it gives students who have access to it the upper hand. The divide grows stronger as students who don't have access to internet don't have equal opportunity or access to learning materials. When teachers continue to assign work to be done online students who don't have access to internet at home will fall behind . It is very co...

In the standard LAFS.1.RI.2.5 for kindergarten, students must be familiar with navigating their way through the internet and websites in order to find the information they are looking for. I do feel ready to implement this standard into my future class room as it does call for anything too extreme. I am familiar with navigating the web and using tools they will have to learn to work with, so I am pretty confident in having to explain this to them. In addition to this, I feel having a good amount of patience to work with the students is key. Working with technology is something that is fairly new to all of them, so being gracious and going at their pace will be beneficial when learning these new skills. I chose to look at Patriotic Holidays : Independence Day resources and this resources seems to be very beneficial to students. Interactive learning is one of the best way for younger students to retain information. So allowing hands on learning will help the new infor...
