Blog Journal #9

Due to the outbreak of Covid 19 many of us had to shift from a classroom to a computer when it came to learning. It was definitely a hard shift and experience filled with many trial and errors, but as time progressed we eventually learned the ropes. I liked getting more time in the day to get more things done, since we didn't have to travel back and forth from our home to school, there was definitely more time to prepare for the day and get work done after. I'll admit, I strongly disliked online learning, so the cons for me greatly outweighed the pros. I was not able to focus online, between my dogs barking often and my phone constantly buzzing , it was hard to stay on task. Not only this but there was constantly technology issues, the wifi would constantly shut down and this would cause our zoom meetings to not work. To help my distance learners, I will post ahead of time the power points and worksheets that will be completed, so if they are absent or their internet is not working they still have access to what is being done.

Open Education Resources (OER) are usually handed out online and are resources that any can get a hold of. The ways people can access them are not limited and they grant others permission to access or recreate others work, free of charge. The link provided below is a source from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and it provides the basic knowledge of how to work with Open Education resources . It provides information on how to find them, how to make one, how to make your OER accessible to others. and so much more.

During the powerpoint assignment #4 , I strongly believed I gained skills to help me in the future. I learned how to make my power points captivating and how to not place too much information on a singular page. I learned how to insert animations in my slides, which I believe make the power point run smoother. I liked having to shoot for 10 informational slides, as this taught me to think outside of the box in order to add more information. I definitely struggled in keeping my powerpoint uniform, as I wanted to add all these different fonts in colors in, but it ultimately made the slides to overwhelming.
