Blog Journal #3
Copyright is something that the creator can place on their work, it gives them the rights of the work and allows them to distribute the work as they please. Most people copyright books, songs, poetry, etc to ensure no one takes their work and profits from it, well at least legally. Fair use came from the Copyright Act of 1976, and if followed the strict guidelines, one can take sections without permission from the creator and use it for non profit education. In my own teaching, I would read works to further my knowledge about the subject matter, but when lecturing and making worksheets, I will make sure to put everything in my own words. When it is time for students to conduct their own work, I will make sure to make them aware of copyrighted materials and the consequences if they copied others work. I think it will be important for my students, as well as myself, to how we can use others work to benefit ours but we can't completely take it .
Cyberbullying has been a growing issue throughout the years and has affected many students. To help stop this, in my classroom I will create a presentation on the effects of cyberbullying. I think this will help students realize the pain they are causing someone when they choose to post hurtful comments online. I think this will open up a new perspective for them, since many of them don't realize the impact of their words. When it comes to funding, the schools have always received the short end of the stick. To help this, I could post sign ups to "Adopt the Class" where families will be recognized for any donations given. Our class could also host biannual fundraisers , such as carnivals or host performances, to help raise money to give the students the best education possible.
I have never created a banner on Canva before the Newsletter, so it was nice to learn how to do that and I feel it made such a nice addition to the letter. I learned how to format a letter and find balance where it would be appealing to my students , but informational for the parents. I feel like next time I could use choice of color to my advantage, being that it was my first time, I stuck to the color black for all of the blurbs. Next time to make the important information stick out I could either put it in bold or a color that pops. Given that I hope to become a teacher, learning these ways to communicate with parents and students is vital.By learning now I will be able to trial and error a few ideas, in hopes to find the most effective way to layout informationThe goal would to eventually make these for an actual class.

Teaching students about using others' work responsibly is a super important concept for them to grasp since it also encourages safety and awareness when navigating through the internet that could translate into other online activity. Preventing cyberbullying by showing how hurtful online comments is a solid strategy to teach students the harm they can cause and to avoid. To raise money for your class, you've got some clever ideas like getting families involved and hosting fun events that also promote involvement from families that they will appreciate. Your newsletter also look great! Canva is a fun and versatile way, and it will help when you become a teacher and crafting your own material.
